This project to learn how to crochet a baby headband requires only your basic crochet stitches. It does call for elasticized sock yarn, giving it the stretchy effect for headbands.

Hook Size “D”

Start your project with elasticized sock yarn.

Chain (ch) 9

Single Crochet (sc) in each 9 chain (ch)

Chain (ch) 1 and turn

You will continue the above until the headband measures about 2 inches shorter than the circumference of the baby’s head.

You will now need to attach the ends to form your band.  To do this simply match your ends, insert your hook and slip stitch.  Wrap your yarn around your hook as if you’re going to (sc) pull the yarn through as to connect them.  Work all the way across.  Break your yarn and pull it through the last stitch.  Weave your  ”tail” easily through the last stitches to hide it.

Don’t forget to add that precious flower to your Baby Headband.  You can find on my  ”How To Crochet A Flower” page, simple instructions to add that special touch.
